When working with 3700 software and database, the following
MUST be attended to.
Before reinstalling Collection software:
- Copy all run module parameters; these will all be deleted.
There are no module files so parameters must be recorded manually.
- Copy the ‘samplename’ text file from
‘D:\ABI\PerkinElmer\3700\DataExtractor’; this will be set back to a
default format.
- Copy the ‘foldername’ text file from
‘D:\ABI\PerkinElmer\3700\DataExtractor’; this will be set back to a
default format.
- Copy all run folders from the ‘Completed Run’ folder;
these will all be deleted. Copy any non-extracted run data from the ‘Data
Extractor’ folder.
- Copy all relevant spatials files and all associated files
from ‘D:\ABI\PerkinElmer\3700\DataCollection’; these will all be deleted.
- Copy all relevant spectral files and all associated files
from ‘D:\ABI\PerkinElmer\3700\DataCollection’; these will all be deleted.
- Record all ‘Preferences’; these will all be set back to a
default format.
- Record all settings associated with the ‘Completed Runs’
folder permissions/sharing.
- All reduced data will be lost.
- All plate records will be lost.
After reinstalling Collection software:
- I have added to the DataCollection.bat file a command that
will delete a file if present. This file is created to allow only one
instance of DataCollection from opening. When DataCollection is ended with
task manager (this will be necessary at times), this file will remain.
Open the DataCollection.bat file and add the line, del D:\Perkin-Elmer\Abi\Lock3700
- Edit/create all previous run modules
- Edit/copy the ‘samplename’ text file.
- Edit/copy the ‘foldername’ text file.
- Transfer copied spatial files back into
‘D:\ABI\PerkinElmer\3700\DataCollection’. Once the files are in the proper
location, override the current spatial files (they do not exist in the
collection software, but this is the procedure to follow).
- Transfer copied spectral files back into
‘D:\ABI\PerkinElmer\3700\DataCollection’. Once the files are in the proper
location, override the current spectral files (they do not exist in the
collection software, but this is the procedure to follow).
- Edit/create all preferences.
- Change/create settings associated with the ‘Completed
Runs’ folder permissions/sharing.
Before CleanupDB.bat bat (this should be done every ~40
runs):
- This utility needs to be done to make room in 3700’s
database for new run data
- Close out of DataCollection and DataExtractor prior to
running this utility
- CleanUpDB will remove all plate records and run data from
Data Collection
- CleanUpDB will remove all processed frame data (reduced
data) from Data Collection
- To run CleanUpDB.bat: run the file from
D:\Perkin-Elmer\ABI\3700\Bin
After CleanupDB.bat:
- Nothing needs to be done as this is just a db
maintenance procedure
Before InitDB.bat
(THIS SHOULD ONLY BE DONE IN EXTREME CASES, OR WHEN
INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY ABI SUPPORT OR LOU):
- This will completely erase and reinitialize 3700’s
database!
- You should follow all the instruction above as though you
were reinstalling the Data Collection software!
After InitDB.bat:
- Follow all instructions above for reinstalling Data
Collection
